Silver Shades of Spring

This past weekend I went out to the Calabogie Highlands area to the west of Ottawa to scout for new locations to photograph. I made the short hike up to the Eagle Nest ridge and spent about an hour waiting for the light to improve and watching turkey vultures soaring on the morning thermals. Whilst I did get some shot of the vista the light never did improve and I decided to move on. About five minutes along the trail I came across this small pond and was intrigued by the contrast of the dead trees in the foreground with the vibrant spring greens of the trees behind. The reflections in the water set it off wonderfully.
